The French Press is the most forgiving brew method and the best way to taste the full body of a coffee. The Grind Coarse is key. Think sea salt. Too fine, and you'll require a jackhammer to plunge it, plus your coffee will be muddy and bitter. The Ratio 1:15 is a good starting point. 20g of coffee to 300ml of water. The Method 1. Add coffee. 2. Pour hot water (95°C) vigorously to wet all grounds. 3. Wait 4 minutes. Do not touch. 4. Break the crust (the floating layer of grounds) with a spoon. Scoop off the foam and floating bits for a cleaner cup. 5. Plunge gently. If there is resistance, wait. 6. Pour immediately. Don't leave coffee in the press, or it will continue brewing and turn bitter.
